I had a conversation with someone this morning who's very close to the Chicago Bears organization. He doesn't work for the Bears organization, but he's very close to the Bears organization. And I said to him, why am I getting a different sense when it comes to Ben Johnson? Why am I, who I am as cynical as they come when new coaches are hired, I don't trust any of these guys are going to make the transition effectively from coordinator to head coach. I am the classic example of show me on Sundays in the fall, I don't want to hear about anything other than results. But I'm getting a different sense about this guy as day after day of these summer practices go on. So I asked this person, why am I getting that sense? And he summed it up for me really effectively. And what he said was, look at how he's treating left tackle and wide receiver. Previous coaching staffs would have held Ozzie back and in no way would have given him a chance to be the day one starter at left tackle. Previous coaching staffs would never have come to a press conference and praised Luther Burden the way Ben Johnson did. Ben Johnson is going to put on the field the best players. He's not interested from what I'm seeing right now. I'm not talking about his past. I'm not talking about projecting into the future. He's not interested in the show. He's not interested in proving a point. He's going to put the best players on the field. And as a Bears fan, man, that is refreshing.
