Tuesday January 6th 2026 this is the first of probably a series of game previews I think I'll do two or three as we lead up to Bears Packers Bears Packers Soldier Field playoffs and may I just say to all of you on social media please please stop talking about the damn salary cap and the draft and how you're going to fix the defense this offseason stop it you're in the playoffs in a year where any of these teams can make a run any of these teams there is no great team in this postseason stop looking down the road this team is in the playoffs they are the two seed and they are in a coin flip game with their rival on Saturday night I don't give a shit what they're doing a defensive line in 2026 I don't care who they're identifying in the fucking draft they have a ball game on Saturday night when did the ball games become the furthest thing from the minds of the fans when did you stop caring about the actual games and only care about the offseason bullshit focus people focus on to the game this preview is big picture because the minutiae of the game will be dissected a ton all over the internet in the days to come and essentially after the game that's all we talk about but the big picture story here is this the Packers are going to get into the 20s they got 16 here last time 28 at Lambeau this defense is actually a little weaker than it was a month ago the Packers are getting into the 20s this season has been defined by the success of Ben Johnson and the success of Caleb Williams and if they're going to do anything in this postseason it is going to be because of Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams that's the story if the Bears come out of this playoff game with 19 points and lose it's on those two that's it they need to put up a soldier field on Saturday night they need to show up and put up 28 plus put up 28 plus and then you could hold your heads high if Green Bay goes out there and puts up 34 on your defense put up 28 plus and you still have a ton of momentum heading into next year but don't go up there Saturday night don't go to the lake front put up 16 and consider it a success this is an offensive driven team this is a team that has shown us fourth quarter after fourth quarter after fourth quarter how good they can be this is the playoffs now there's no more Bengals there's no more Raiders on the schedule this is the playoffs and if you want to win a playoff game against your rival who have a very good defense even without Micah Parsons go out there and put up 28 plus and then take your shot hope your defense can take the ball away in a big moment that's my big picture storyline I am NOT gonna overanalyze this game come late Saturday night Sunday morning if the Bears go out there and put up something in the teens this is a game where if you're going to lose it you need to lose it because your defense couldn't stop them do not lose it because you start scoring again like you did the last decade announce yourself on the national stage on Amazon Prime in front of Alan Kirk announce yourself as a new generation of Chicago Bears football announce yourself as formally we are an offensive team now put up 28 plus and take your shot that's my big picture look at Bears Packers
