Listen, I am recording this one second after Jake Moody, Jake fucking Moody, of all human beings has just made a kick for the Chicago Bears to beat the Washington Commanders. And let's just take into consideration what just happened. This was a horribly officiated game. The Bears had every right to wake up tomorrow morning, file a complaint with the league and say, this did not go our way. This is why this was wrong. They didn't do that. They kept fighting. And the mark of this coach, the mark of this new era seems to be to me that they don't stop fighting. And how many years and how many games and how many weeks have we watched this team fold in those big moments, fold when they needed to step up? I don't think this coach allows that. I am as ecstatic right now having watched Jake Moody, and by the way, how great can sports be? This kid thrown out of San Francisco was going to be the big kicking star in the league, third round draft pick, thrown out of San Fran. I'm watching on my TV as the Bears are holding him up over their shoulders. How great a moment for that kid. The Bears are three and two. The Bears are three and two in an NFC that is anybody's game. This feels like a night we look back at as Bears fans and say, maybe it started then. They made so many mistakes. The Zacchaeus drop is awful. DJ Moore offside is awful. The calls are awful. But they would never in the last decade have made those mistakes and won this game. And they did. And that's the difference. That's what great coaches tend to do. They get their guys to win. Relish this moment. Relish what you're feeling right now. Embrace it. Enjoy it. This is what being a sports fan is all about. The feeling you have right now, that ecstasy you're feeling right now is the whole deal. And I will tell you something I have not felt probably in five years. As a game has ended, I can't wait for them to kick off the next one. They've brought that back, and I thank them for it. 2025, let's go. Bear down.
