Monday, November 10th, 2025, and the Chicago Bears are six and three and squarely in the playoff conversation. They are squarely in the NFC North conversation. And I am kind of amazed at what I'm seeing on social media, what I'm hearing on the podcast, what I even saw this morning on a few of the talking head shows, the early morning stuff, not that Stephen A. Smith stuff, the stuff basically from last night. I am amazed how many people are seemingly engaged in a conversation about whether or not the Chicago Bears are quote unquote good. Who cares? It doesn't mean anything. The word doesn't mean anything. The Carolina Panthers were up and coming and were good a week ago. Then they get blown out by the New Orleans Saints. The Buffalo Bills last week were good. They beat the Chiefs. It was the game of the year and they got blown out yesterday by the Miami Dolphins. Miami Dolphins, by the way, who alternate being terrible and great every other week. Just go look at their last four weeks. This idea that in early November or November 9th, you need to be anything good, bad, elite, no matter what you're talking about is just nonsense. What are the Bears? Six of the nine times they played football this year, the Bears scored more points than the other guys. That's all you need to know. That's it. Are they a championship contender? Of course not. We know how flawed this defense is and the offense, while being a work in progress, is progressing very quickly. But this defense is terrible. They're terrible. However, they do have a penchant to make the play when they need to make the play. They might not be a good unit. They are an awful secondary. They are a non-existent pass rush. Yesterday they could not stop the run in the second half. You see how much they miss T.J. Edwards. Not only because T.J. Edwards is not there, but because Noah Sewell is not good enough to play at this level. But don't get trapped, don't get locked into these debates about whether the team is good or not. It doesn't matter. If this team can keep stringing wins together and somehow, someway, find themselves in the postseason, it is a remarkable achievement. What they have done so far is already a remarkable achievement. Would you prefer they win a couple laughers? Sure. But folks, look at the point spreads on these games. They're not favored to win any of these games by more than a couple of points. They're not underdogs by more than a couple of points. They can win or lose every single game on their schedule and they're proving that every week. This is not a team that was projected to win 14 games. They are out there each week and the one thing you say about them is, man, they give everything to the final whistle. They could have easily been left for dead these last two weeks and they're not. And they blocked the kick in the Raiders game and they stayed alive in the Commanders game and then Caleb made the plays the last two weeks. Don't get trapped in semantics. Whether or not you want to call the team good means nothing. All that matters, they've played nine games and six of the nine, they scored more than the other guys. Bear down.
