Tuesday evening, October 14th, 2025, and you know, I'm sometimes disappointed in how the sports fan has evolved. And what I mean by that is today I woke up and I was ecstatic thinking about the Bears win last night. I got about four hours sleep and I went to social media periodically through the day expecting to just see ecstasy and just see fan enthusiasm at the fact that this team is now entertaining again, that they're winning crazy games, that they're providing the kind of energy and excitement we've been desperate for for such a long time. And what do I see? Bears fans antagonizing commanders fans. Bears fans already out there arguing over what trades to make. You've got to stop losing track of the forest for the trees. Two weeks ago, we didn't think this team could run the football. Two weeks ago, we didn't think this team could stop the run. Every analyst, everyone who made a prediction on Monday Night Football said the same thing. The commanders are going to run it down their throats and the Bears inability to run it will cost them the game. And what happened over that bye week? The bye week now is the only time during the season where coaches can actually make structural changes. What happened over that bye week? The Bears coaching staff announced themselves to the NFL. If you heard Troy and Joe on that broadcast, forget about the Caleb stuff. Caleb seems to drive people crazy. Forget about that stuff. If you heard Troy on that broadcast, what he was shocked by were the holes being opened by that offensive line. What he was shocked by was DeAndre Swift getting to the second level. What they were shocked by was the way Dennis Allen's defense rallied to the football and stopped the run. And what they recognized on that broadcast was that the Bears have a coaching staff. They have a coaching staff now. What you saw Monday night is not something to be taken lightly. What you saw Monday night was evidence, proof that the guys running football at Hallis Hall now know how to run football. And that's not necessarily been the case for a while. This was a day today for Bears fans to take a deep breath, to recognize this is going to be a fun year. Who knows how it'll end? Who knows who will stay healthy? Who knows if they might get to the postseason? None of that actually matters today. Today was the day to take a deep breath and just be happy that for the first time in a long time, they got it right. Ben Johnson is a hell of a head coach. We know Dennis Allen is a hell of a defensive coordinator. And now as a fan base, we get to look forward to each and every Sunday. We are a year removed from me having done a film lecture in Pleasantville, New York and blowing off Bears Patriots because I just didn't want to prioritize it in my life anymore. That shit is over. That dog no longer hunts. This team is a team again. They are the kind of team you want to see each and every week. And folks, I think we're about to enjoy a very fun ride, not in 26, 27, 28, but right here in 25. This team is going to give us some memories. And that's what today is about. Enjoy that the Bears finally got it right.
