You know, I've been thinking for a while about a new format, a format that is easily accessible, quick to consume, but also packs a punch and gets my point across. And one thing I've always loved as a sports fan, and this started when I was a little kid, when you were a little kid in Jersey and a big sporting event happened locally on the weekend, you couldn't wait till Monday at 105 for Mike and the Mad Dog to come on the radio and you couldn't wait for that opening monologue. That opening monologue was going to be the passionate response to what had happened over the weekend. And so for Sports Mockery, what I'm going to start doing is this, a two minute verbal rant that I'm calling the Monday monologue. I'll do them all summer long. They'll be on a wide range of sports topics this summer, Bears related when they need to be. But then in season, every Monday, every Monday, I will respond to the game with a two minute monologue and I'll try to throw some of the passion and enthusiasm and anger and ecstasy that I usually keep out of the writing. I'll try to incorporate them in the monologue. I think it'll be a fun way and it'll be something you can listen to in the car. It'll be something you can listen to on the train. It'll be something you can listen to on the can in the morning. Two minutes. That's all. Everybody does the hour long podcast now. Fuck that. Two minutes and I'm done. Welcome to the Monday monologue.
