The ball is just picked off. So I want you to, first of all, let me acknowledge this is going to be unhinged. Second of all, let me acknowledge as a post game monologue that I have what I'm calling the mini flu. And that mini flu caused me to miss here in New York, my favorite day of the year, which is marathon Sunday. It is the day in New York city where it's just, everyone is out rooting for everybody else. And I love it so much. And it's Irish coffees at 9 a.m. and it's cheering on your friends and it's just a great day. And I missed it. So I was, I was fucking grumpy all morning, even when this game started. And as this game progressed, I was sort of marveling at all the things I was seeing because for years I have argued for years that the NFL had changed, had transitioned to this modern game where sometimes it takes 40 to beat the opponent. And the Chicago bears were simply cemented feet in cement in an old school way of playing where you're running back and middle linebacker or your best player. And you're constantly trying to win 13, nine. All the other teams are showing you that 40 is the way. And the bears are like, nah, 13, nine is what we're looking for. And today, today was the day folks. Today was the day that the Chicago bears organization joined the modern NFL because when they needed to score, they scored, you know, they got the ball back with under a minute to go needing the field goal. And the truth is I never doubted that this coach would get them in position to have a kick. Did I doubt that the cake would be made? Yes. But then I'm watching Colston Loveland run through one of the worst secondary plays in the history of football. I mean, why you just don't wrap him up, gang tackle him as he's running to the end zone. I'm screaming, get to the fucking end zone because if he goes down inside the five and fucking things probably over, I'm screaming, get in the end zone. But that is where we are right now as a fan base. We don't know how to watch these games. We've never had the game where you need 47 to win and you score it. And I'm sitting here today dealing with a mini flu and I'm pacing my fucking apartment and thinking to myself, if they are going to be this entertaining every week, I can rest assure you can rest assure I ain't missing any more of these games. This team is entertaining as hell. Can they stop anybody? No, they have no pass rush and their secondary is depleted. We know pass rush is the focus in the offseason. If they want to make a deal for a corner here next few days, no one's going to blame them because look at what you saw today. But you also saw a team that despite some horrific special teams, horrific and some horrific defense, they went out and put up 47 and won a football game on the road. It is hard to win on the road in this league. Don't take wins for granted. Detroit loses today. The Minnesota Green Bay loses today to Carolina. Don't take wins for granted. This is the kind of win that mirrors for me the loss of a year ago in D.C. This is the kind of the same way that loss and I didn't see it coming at the time, but the same way that loss in D.C. tanked the season. I think this win galvanizes the season because they don't have to be perfect anymore. They have an offense and they have an offensive coach and they have an offensive line and they have weapons now that can go out and score against everybody. This is one of the most enjoyable Sundays at one I can remember. And the person we have to thank for it has been Johnson and the person we should be saluting right now is Caleb fucking Williams because Caleb Williams had a rough first half, but he was damn good in that second half. He rebounded beautifully. That scramble on the final drive for the Bears. That was the game. Getting that first down was everything. The kids showed up in that second half today and he should be saluted. But as Bears fans right now take stock, they are now a fully accredited member of the modern NFL. Tear down.
