Here's the truth about Hollywood that nobody wants to talk about. And that is Hollywood was not broken. Movies were not broken. TV was not broken. Hollywood broke itself because it decided to subscribe to a Silicon Valley approach to entertainment and render movies and television creations of artists. It rendered them content and decided to flood the market. Content became king. Look at what's happening right now. Minecraft, Sinners, that new Marvel thing. People are flooding movie theaters. People are seeing these things in huge numbers. Why? Because people like going to the movies. They always have. They always will. And Hollywood would be better served to acknowledge what's happening and start producing better movies for the theater. Look at what's happening on television. People flock to that show Suits because it was on Netflix. What does Hollywood do? Hey, they're watching Suits on Netflix. Let's put Suits LA on actual television and ask people to watch Suits in a way they have never watched it. Nobody watched Suits when it was on TV. They watched it as background fodder, as trashy television. So Hollywood decides, no, no, we're going to give it to you in a way you've never consumed it before. What sense does this make? You have changed how people consume television. That's over now. Television week to week is for prestige shows only on HBO. No other TV should be created that way. Movies and audiences are telling you this. Movies are movies. They are different. They are the works of artists. They're meant to be enjoyed in groups. They are meant to be seen in public. Hollywood, the world is telling you.
