Sunday, October 19th, 2025. And folks, mark your calendars. Go to the fridge where you keep all the kids' sporting events for the week and put a little mark on today. Get in that Jansport backpack, take out your planner and mark today. Because today, the Chicago Bears turned a corner. They've turned a corner we've been waiting for them to turn for a generation. And I'm going to take you back to one drive, to one play, a play that will be forgotten everywhere tomorrow. But I am not forgetting. End of the first half, the quarterback is terrible. Saints go right down the field and score. They come out of the half, right down the field and score. Bears mount a drive, huge drive, a drive I was ready to christen the drive we've been waiting for. Short down, they have a chance to kick a short field goal and get up two possessions. They decide to go for it. One yard line, two yard line, wherever they were. They fumble the snap. False start. Reprieve. Field goal. If that false start doesn't happen, we are talking about that fumbled snap all week. We are talking about same old Bears all week. Lovie Smith said it after the Arizona game in 2006. Sometimes when you're a team of destiny, these things happen. This is not, right now, a team of destiny by any means. But you're starting to see, as the ref calls, continue to go against them. And for some reason, Colston Loveland is offensive pass interference gold for these refs. And it's never offensive pass interference. The moment finally turned. The Bears caught a break. They caught a break. The Bears went out today against an inferior opponent and won by double digits. And as a fan base, we're disappointed. But we're disappointed because we know this group can be better. They can get better. And getting better for this group starts with one guy. Listen, defensively, they've got to hold on for dear life. They have no corners. And they're losing them seemingly every drop. Getting better for this franchise and for this team now is all about the quarterback who was terrible today. He has got to, got to, have the game slow down for him. He has got to start seeing the field. He has got to start taking the plays in the structure of the offense and stop trying to play college football hero ball. If he does not do those things, I am telling you right now, win or no win, if he does not start doing those things, they will put him on the bench to watch the game. And by the way, if they did that in a few weeks, it wouldn't be the wrong call. They will put him on the bench and say, look at what's happening. See the game. They're not seeing it from the quarterback position. The Bears are four and two, and they're getting nothing from the quarterback. Ben Johnson, if he gets something out of this quarterback now, look out. Last thing I'll say, as we all should be just rejoicing today, what a hire Dennis Allen was. Absolutely unbelievable hire. What he is getting out of this defense, the fire, the intensity, the turnovers, all of it, that stems right from the defensive coordinator. They are playing out of their minds. That is not that good a group, folks. They are playing like a good defense, and they might not be one. This is a team right now. They are playing as a group. Hell, even the kickoffs today were better. Moody putting the ball to that one-yard line, which seems to be the sweet spot, covering them better. They're improving. Outside the quarterback to this point, they are improving. This is an exciting time to be a Bears fan, and God damn it, we deserve it. Bear down.
