The thing that makes me laugh the most on social media is when I see this new wave of fan. This new wave of fan who have become the media. They've all got cameras in their home office, they've all got podcasts, they've all got YouTube shows. When I see this group say things like, the best case scenario for the Bears is Tyson Bajins is a good player and they can trade him for draft picks. This is the modern way of looking at the NFL that I will tell you is not shared by anybody working in the NFL. Ryan Poles and Ben Johnson are never going to be judged by the league when they go to future interviews by how many draft picks they accumulated. They are going to be judged on wins and losses. Men in their jobs would far prefer to have a player they value, a player who they know can produce at a certain level, than have a draft pick where they get to go guess if that kid can perform at that level. I was hearing very early in camp that Ben Johnson loved Tyson Bajin. Not in lieu of Caleb Williams, but that he loved them and that he saw in Tyson Bajin the guy who if his starting quarterback went down he could still win games. That's why he's extended. The value of a backup quarterback in the modern NFL is huge and it far exceeds, far exceeds, the crapshoot of a draft pick.
